The world ends when you are dead, until then you got more punishment in store.
Stand it like a man, and give some back.

Interests and Such

A short list of some of the things that I use to fill up my day.

  • Hockey
Ice hockey is the best game on Earth. My Korean ice-hockey experience has been limited to a couple of pick-up games over the past 3 years. It is very disappointing.  There are games and teams to join, but timing and distance make them difficult.  If I ever buy a car, I'll play. Until then it is cost and time prohibitive.  Korea does have a pro team in the Asian Hockey league now..we'll see about getting to a game or 3.

  • Gaming
Since my first computer game in 1982 (Wizardry, the original, on the almighty Franklin Ace 1000, an Apple //+ clone) I've been hooked. Who's bright idea was it to buy a computer anyway?

    Guild Afterlife,
    Mithaniel Marr
Everquest, the Crack of the RPG world.
At the end of May 2002, I announced my retirement. Four years I played, walking away was incredibly difficult and I doubt I could have done so if I was still in the States.

Without a Fleche, would there be an EQ?
(yes, but it wouldn't have been as fun)

My game time in Korea has been a bit healthier.  I still have the occasional binge, but mostly it is a few hours here and there.

  • Fencing
Fencing became a passion of mine about 13 years ago. During college I helped rebuild the Fencing Club at UCO and was part of the Fencing Team. Later I was club President and team Captain. In a tournament in Dallas I earned my E rating, but trashed my knee as well. I've tried to make a few comebacks, but the body won't do what the mind tells it to, so fencing is mostly a memory...Although Redlands opened a salle near Edmond, I'm now half a world away.

  • Case Mods
In 1990, my super fast 386-dx 25 met up with 2 cans of Krylon royal blue, people freaked, dogs and cats played together, general anarchy ensued. Since that fateful day, my parents have been graced with a green "Fleckstone" computer and monitor, my girlfriend with a Bordeaux case and keyboard, and me...well I've had the sweetest full tower in Taxi cab yellow, the nastiest mini in nappy green and a variety of other whims (overclocking, massive fans, peltier coolers to name a few) over the past decade.

Now, Case modding is popular and I'm branching out. Blue and white LEDs replace those sad green LEDs that infect every piece of equipment. Neon lights and strobes, blow holes and Dremmel cut designs...oh ya baby.  My Mom is now blessed with my Goku Power system, and my Grandparents have the red one!

I have a Dremmel in Korea now, we'll see where it takes me. Quality accessories to make a case cool are hard to get here.  There is a lot of pre-made cases at Yongsan, but they are all mass produced.  Not many here actually have the creativity to do their own I think.

  • Hardware and Electronic Stuff!
I'm a total gadget freak.  I have a PDA, MP3 player, camera phone, GPS, laptop, and desktop pc...and I have the stuff to hook 'em all together.  What a geek.

  •     Korean Tony!

  • DBZ DBZ DBZ  Dragon Ball Z!  Thanks
