August 31, 2004: What little faith I had that
the stupid union fuckers (ya, you heard me) would
get At 3:45 pm today blood curdling screams wake me from my at-desk power nap. They quickly turn to blood curdling screams of joy and my stomach instantly feels ill. Through the mayhem that follows, I make out the words principal and go (Korean of course). I confirm what I thought I heard with Marc who was listening as well and he says the same. So, the principal, the focus of 4 months of rage and asinine behavior has either been fired or has quit. I didn't stay around to find out. I couldn't stand to see the gloating looks on the children or the rebellious students. I'll find out later what happened if I can convince anyone to tell me some semblance of the truth. In a world where I was calling the shots (the whole situation would have never made it this far) the principal would be replaced by the biggest asshole on the peninsula. He would hold all parties accountable for the disruption of the school and destruction of the property. He would suspend students that skipped classes and expel those that defaced the property. He would press charges on the parents and union reps that provided support and materials to the students (wonder if contribution to delinquency of a minor is on the books here.) Lastly he would fire or suspend the "teachers" that neglected classes, intimidated students, and used school materials and time to further the fight. Sadly this isn't a world that makes sense. Again, it is Korea. If the public relations mismanagement of the previous months is an indicator, by this time next week we will have a union lackey in the principal's chair and the two fired teachers will be back. Great lesson taught and learned! Bitch and whine and ignore the law and you'll get your way. Time to look for another job, I won't be able to stomach looking at these dicks until December. Rus-Bring it on union boys. August 26, 2004: The state of Rus and therus.net. Well, I've almost finished my first week back in the RoK and I'm pretty damn tired. I went from having 20 hours of classes a week (10 classes of 1st year students twice a week) to having all the first year plus all the 2nd year. So now I have 2 very different sets of kids and absolutely no free time to speak of. Where does this leave therus.net? Well that's a good question. I will do my damnedest to keep updating, but the loss of so much data combined with the new lack of time has me feeling a wee bit disheartened. For those that haven't heard, my old webhost, webhhostxl.com, seems to be operating on auto pilot. Their home page works but is now cluttered with google ads and email and support tickets go unanswered. The IP of my old site went away at some point while I was in Europe and there is now way for me to reach my old data. This is a real bitch since I just paid those jack monkeys for another year. I was semi-intelligent. I made a back-up of the entire site before I left. The semi part is not checking it more thoroughly. It looked like a good back-up, but it seems all my photo galleries missed the copy. I got the directory structure, but no tasty bits inside it. So...I now have to recreate over 2 years of photo memories. That'll be hard. The pictures are easy, but the notes and comments will be a struggle. Maybe I'll get lucky and google will have some cached. I think my e-mail is mostly back and running. The board is still doa. The navigation is kludged together but working...and I'm real real angry with webhostxl/AEG Enterprises Inc of Redlands CA. Anyone that can help me find who this really is will be rewarded in the afterlife. Rus -Oh ya, I went to Europe over the summer, saw 12 countries in 20 days. It was good. Will write about it when I have time. August 25, 2004- Attempting to reconstruct pages. webhostxl.com let my pages poof and won't bother to answer any mail. The dude best hope I never find out who he really is. More soon. |
