On April 29th, after a weekend of labor pains, Dr. Barki helped our Lena into the world.
Mary Lena was 20.5 inches and 8 pounds 4 ounces.

Took a train trip to Chuncheon to catch the Kangwon Land vs Anyang Halla game. (AL Hockey site)
The game was good for the first 50 minutes, last 10..well Kangwon kinda fell apart. Mike Tobin, a former Blazer plays for Kangwon Land, was quite amused to see my Blazer's jersey. Good people, entertaining hockey, and some good food. It was a good day.

Spent the day on Daedun mountain near Daejon with Julie's younger sister (Giggler), their Mom and a family friend (aka the Preacher).
We took a cable car about halfway up then climbed the rest of the way.
It's about a kilometer up and about 3 in total.
We went down the old-fashoned way. It was a good afternoon overall.

The 2nd and likely final installment (for a few years at least) of Rus and Julie's Thanksgiving day feast. We made 14 foreign white devils happy. My choco-butterscotch pie kicked much ass as did my strawberry pie. Recipes are for the weak!

We had a pre-wedding get-together in Itaewon.
Several of the old-school crew attended as did some of the new. A Boracay (Damon) friend even made it.
We ended up merging with a lot of TheDamnHippie's HASH buddies for a hazy night.

The last foray of the summer was an aborted solo trip to Cambodia that ended up as a couple trip to Samui.
Sadly Chaweng beach is just too damn commercial now and is pricing itself out of the Cheap Thai Trip market. After adjusting to the new prices, it was still a happy and relaxing time.

On July 9, 2005 in Istanbul Turkey Jayson defied the odds and found a blind woman that needed a green card.

I spent Jan 29- Feb 10 on the oh so relaxing island of Boracay in the Philippines. If anything can knock Thailand off my retirement list it may be this place.

JJ hooked us up with a special tour of the DMZ and JSA (and some Taco Bell aferwards!) with a Lt Col. He was the #2 man up there and got us into some places the USO tour doesn't see. It was a very cool trip.

With a few days to kill before Jayson arrived in Istanbul, I headed across Bulgaria by bus to Constanta, Romania. One of my top experiences ever. I wish I could have stayed longer, it was an amazing series of events and people. Florin Romeo, if you ever see this, you and your family are great.
